Use this when you run a small gym or studio in person and do not need customers to book through Newie. Customers might walk in, scan a QR code, join at the front desk, pay after a trial class, or buy from a link in Instagram. Newie handles payment, receipts, billing, customer records, and agreed terms. The class timetable, attendance, access, and capacity management can stay in your normal process.

What You Usually Want

Small gyms and studios often want the fewest moving parts possible. You already know who comes to class, or you manage attendance at the door. What you need is a simple way to take payment, start recurring billing, and keep a clear customer record. Newie works best here when you set up the payment products customers actually buy: drop-ins, class packs, trials, memberships, challenges, and workshops.

Common Setup

  1. Create One-Off Services for drop-in classes, trial passes, casual visits, workshops, merchandise, or one-time add-ons
  2. Create One-Off Services for class packs or prepaid blocks when you track usage separately
  3. Create Subscriptions for weekly or monthly memberships, unlimited classes, recurring studio access, or ongoing training access
  4. Create Fixed-Term Subscriptions for 6-week challenges, class programs, or transformation blocks paid over time
  5. Use QR codes, direct links, Tap to Pay, or Purchase as Customer for sign-ups at the studio
  6. Use Terms of Service for cancellation, minimum term, waivers, access rules, failed payments, refunds, and studio policies
  7. Use Welcome Emails for timetable links, first-visit instructions, waiver or intake forms, door access, class rules, or community links
  8. Use groups to separate memberships, class packs, locations, trainers, class types, or programs

Simple Studio Payment Flow

1

Customer chooses how to join

The customer asks at the desk, scans a QR code, opens a link, taps to pay, or joins after a class.
2

Select the right payment

Choose the casual pass, class pack, weekly membership, monthly membership, challenge, or program.
3

Customer pays through Newie

The customer checks out through a link, QR code, Tap to Pay, or Purchase as Customer flow.
4

Newie sends confirmation

Newie sends the purchase confirmation, receipt, signed agreement where Terms of Service is enabled, and any Welcome Email you configured.
5

Customer attends classes

You manage attendance, class access, and timetable changes in your normal process.

Keep Booking Out of It

Do not add booking steps unless you actually need them. For many small gyms and studios, the clean setup is:
  • Newie handles payment, agreements, receipts, billing, and customer records
  • You manage the timetable, attendance, check-in, door access, and class capacity
Create separate Newie services for the things customers buy, not for every class on the timetable. Last updated: 2026-06-01
