Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL)

Newie supports BNPL through Afterpay, Affirm, and Klarna where eligible. You are funded upfront for the purchase amount, less applicable fees, bank payout follows the normal payout schedule, and the BNPL provider collects installments from the customer. BNPL fee: 5.95% + 30c (AU/US) or 30p (UK) per transaction. Available for one-off services, not subscriptions or installment plans. In Newie, customers must be in the same country as your business to use Afterpay/Clearpay, Klarna, or Affirm. Affirm also depends on Stripe eligibility and your business category. How to Enable BNPL:
1

Check the Stripe business URL

Make sure your Stripe account has a business URL filled in. If you do not have a website, a social media profile URL may be accepted where Stripe allows it. BNPL will not enable without this.
2

Enable BNPL

Enable BNPL either from Newie → Settings → Accepted Payment Methods or from the Buy Now Pay Later option when editing an eligible one-off service. Settings → Accepted Payment Methods is also where you control account-level card / Apple Pay and AU Bank Account availability for new purchases.
3

Control BNPL on eligible services

Once BNPL is enabled on the account, new one-off services default to BNPL on. To turn it on or off for an individual one-off service, go to Sell → Services → tap the ... menu next to the service → Edit → Buy Now Pay Later → Save.
Buy Now Pay Later is the only payment method controlled from an individual service. BNPL is different from a Newie installment plan: with BNPL, the customer pays over time through Afterpay, Affirm, or Klarna, while you are funded upfront for the purchase amount, less applicable fees. With a Newie installment plan, you receive each scheduled payment only as the customer pays it. If BNPL or Affirm is not available at checkout, check that BNPL is enabled, the service is a one-off service, the customer is in the same country as your business, you have a valid business URL or accepted social profile URL in Stripe, the purchase amount fits the BNPL provider’s limits, and Affirm is allowed for your Stripe business category.
