Service Name
The title customers see on the payment page, store, and in communications. A clear, concise name helps customers understand what they are purchasing. Available on all service types. Required field.Description
A short description of the service. This is optional and appears alongside the service name to give customers more context about what they are purchasing. Available on all service types.Pricing
Pricing is the main amount entered for the service. The currency is set based on your default selling currency. For one-off services, pricing is the single amount the customer pays. One-off services do not have a billing period or number of payments. For subscriptions, pricing is the amount charged each billing period. For example, if the price is $50 and the billing period is Week, the customer is charged $50 / week. For installment plans, pricing is the total amount to be collected. The provider also selects a billing period and number of payments, and Newie calculates the installment amount automatically. Newie requires a minimum price of $0.50. Free services ($0) are not supported. Pricing is required on all service types. Can I create a free service?
Can I create a free service?
No. Newie requires a minimum service price of $0.50. To offer a free trial for a subscription, use a delayed billing start date instead of a zero price.
Can I change the currency on a service?
Can I change the currency on a service?
Not self-serve. Services use the account’s default selling currency. Newie support can create service templates in supported selling currencies where available.
Does Newie support discount codes?
Does Newie support discount codes?
Not currently. Use a separate discounted service, custom pricing, Intro Pricing where available, or a temporary customer-specific price change where that matches the workflow.
Billing Period
Billing Period controls how often subscription or installment plan invoices are created and payments are due. For subscriptions, the billing period controls the recurring charge frequency. You can choose Day, Week, 2 Weeks, 4 Weeks, 6 Weeks, 12 Weeks, Month, Year, or Custom. If Custom is selected, Newie opens the Custom Billing Period screen where you choose the Period Length and Number of Periods. This lets you create a billing period that is not covered by the preset options. For installment plans, the billing period controls how often each installment invoice is due. You set the total price, billing period, and number of payments; Newie then calculates the installment amount. Billing Period is available on subscriptions and installment plans. It is not used for one-off services.Add Fee to Price
When enabled, Newie increases the service price so transaction fees are included in the customer price. The customer sees one all-inclusive price at checkout. Add Fee to Price is available on all service types. It changes what new customers pay for that service. It does not automatically change existing subscribers or existing installment plans.Number of Payments
Number of Payments controls how many scheduled invoices and payments a subscription or installment plan will collect. For subscriptions, set Number of Payments to Unlimited for an ongoing subscription, or set a fixed number for a fixed-term subscription. For installment plans, the number of payments determines how many installments the total is split into. Number of Payments is available on subscriptions and installment plans.Setup Fee
A setup fee is a one-time fee charged immediately when a new customer purchases a subscription. It is collected at checkout, even if the subscription has a fixed, delayed, or rolling billing start date. Setup fees are available on subscriptions only. Use them for onboarding, deposits, joining fees, or a partial first period that should be collected immediately. Can I add a Setup Fee to a service?
Can I add a Setup Fee to a service?
Yes. Setup fees are a one-time charge collected immediately at purchase, separately from recurring subscription billing. Setup fees are available on subscriptions only.
Billing Start Date
You can choose when billing starts for a subscription or installment plan. Billing start date controls when subscription or installment invoices begin, when payments are due, and when intro pricing starts; it does not delay any setup fee. Billing start date types include:- On Purchase Date: Payments start immediately on the date the customer purchases. This is the default.
- Fixed Date: Payments start on a specific date. Customers can purchase any time before or on the start date.
- Delayed Start: Payments start a set number of days or weeks after the customer purchases. Useful for trials or onboarding periods.
- Rolling Start: Payments for new customers start on a recurring cycle (e.g. every Monday). Customers can purchase any day.
Intro Pricing
Intro Pricing lets you set a starting price that applies for a limited number of billing periods before the main price takes effect. Intro pricing respects the service’s Billing Start Date setting: if billing starts on a future, delayed, or rolling date, the intro pricing begins on that billing start date rather than immediately at purchase. Intro Pricing is only available on standard subscriptions, not fixed-term subscriptions, one-off services, or installment plans. Choose an Intro Type and a Duration (number of billing periods the intro price applies).- Pay As You Go: The customer pays a set price per billing period during the intro period, then automatically moves to the main price. Example: “$30 / week for 4 weeks, then $60 / week.”
- Pay Upfront: The customer pays a lump sum upfront for the entire intro period, then moves to regular per-period billing at the main price. Example: “$100 up front for 4 weeks, then $50 / week.”
- Discounted: A percentage discount is applied to the main price for a limited number of billing periods. Example: “25% off for 4 weeks” (if main price is $50 / week) customer pays $37.50 / week for 4 payments, then $50 / week.
- The intro price cannot be zero ($0) - to offer a free trial, use a delayed billing start date instead.
What is Intro Pricing?
What is Intro Pricing?
Intro Pricing lets providers offer a starting rate that automatically moves to the main price after a set number of billing periods. It is only available on standard subscriptions, not fixed-term subscriptions, one-off services, or installment plans.
Can I charge a pro-rata amount for a customer joining mid-cycle?
Can I charge a pro-rata amount for a customer joining mid-cycle?
Newie does not calculate pro-rata automatically. Use Intro Pricing with Pay Upfront for a partial first period, or add a Setup Fee equal to the partial amount. Choose based on timing: Pay Upfront follows subscription billing timing, while a Setup Fee is collected immediately at checkout.
Tip: Pricing settings can be customised per customer when sharing a service. See Custom Pricing Links for customer-specific price and start date overrides.
Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL)
Buy Now Pay Later lets customers pay in installments through Afterpay/Clearpay, Klarna, or Affirm where eligible. You are funded upfront for the purchase amount, less applicable fees, while bank payout still follows the normal payout schedule. The customer repays the BNPL provider over time. BNPL is only available on one-off services, not subscriptions or installment plans. How to Enable BNPL:- Enable BNPL either from Newie → Settings → Accepted Payment Methods or from the Buy Now Pay Later option when editing an eligible one-off service. Settings → Accepted Payment Methods is also where you control account-level card / Apple Pay and AU Bank Account availability for new purchases.
- Once BNPL is enabled on the account, new one-off services default to BNPL on. To turn it on or off for an individual one-off service, tap Sell → tap Services → tap the
...menu next to the service → tap Edit → Buy Now Pay Later → tap Save.
- The transaction fee for BNPL is 5.95% + 30c (AU/US) or 30p (UK) per transaction
- Customers must be in the same country as your business to use Afterpay/Clearpay, Klarna, or Affirm
- Affirm availability also depends on Stripe eligibility and your business category
- BNPL providers set their own minimum and maximum purchase limits, and those limits can change. If BNPL is not available at checkout, the purchase amount, customer location, provider country, or Stripe eligibility may be the reason.
Terms of Service
You can attach Terms of Service to any service type. When enabled, customers must agree to the terms before completing a purchase. Once agreed, a signed agreement is generated, stored, available to download, and included in the purchase confirmation sent to the customer. Terms are fully customisable - use Newie’s default terms (e.g. minimum term, liability waivers, cancellation policies, refund terms) or create your own custom terms. Why Use Terms of Service: Terms of Service can help reduce disputes and chargebacks by documenting what the customer agreed to before purchasing. They also make it easier to communicate payment expectations with customers, especially when used alongside the Overdue Assistant. How to Add Terms of Service: Terms of Service can be added when creating a new service or when editing an existing one. To edit an existing service, open Newie → tap Sell → tap Services, tap the... menu next to the service, then tap Edit.
- When creating or editing a service, scroll to Terms of Service and tap Add
- Toggle on and edit any of Newie’s default terms (e.g. minimum term, liability waivers, cancellation policies, refund terms).
- To add your own terms, tap Create Custom Term and enter a specific condition or clause - each custom term should cover just one condition
- Use the AI feature to help generate terms for your agreement - describe what you need and AI will draft the term for you
- Preview how terms will appear to customers at checkout
- Save the service
Note: An additional 0.4% fee applies when Terms of Service is enabled on a service.

How do I update Terms of Service for existing customers?
How do I update Terms of Service for existing customers?
Existing customers keep the terms they agreed to at purchase. If a customer needs to agree to new terms, send them a new service link so they can purchase or subscribe under the updated agreement.
How do I add contracts, waivers, or forms?
How do I add contracts, waivers, or forms?
Use Terms of Service to attach custom terms or waivers to a service. Customers must agree before purchase. For external forms, include links in the Welcome Email, Newie Chat, or another onboarding message.
Overdue Assistant
The Overdue Assistant is an AI agent for overdue subscription and installment plan invoices. When enabled, it follows up when a subscription or installment plan has 2+ overdue invoices, or an invoice 7+ days overdue, handles the back-and-forth, and works to recover payment faster. How It Works:- The Overdue Assistant activates automatically when a subscription or installment plan has 2+ overdue invoices, or an invoice 7+ days overdue
- It replies back and forth with customers, negotiates payment dates, schedules when payments will be made, and follows up if they don’t pay
- It communicates with customers about overdue invoices on your behalf
- You can trigger the assistant manually and add notes to guide its approach
- The assistant can be turned on or off at any time
- Overdue Assistant works best when Terms of Service are enabled - terms help document payment expectations
- Overdue Assistant cannot be turned on for expired subscriptions. If it was already active before a subscription expired, it may continue chasing outstanding overdue invoices after expiry. If there are no outstanding invoices or payment attempts after cancellation, continued billing emails should be treated as a support issue
Welcome Email
When added, customers receive the Welcome Email immediately after purchase or sign up. You can customise this email with a personal message including next steps, instructions, or links (e.g. a Zoom link, community invite, or onboarding guide). Customers can reply directly to the Welcome Email, and replies go to your email address. Welcome Email is available on all service types.Digital Downloads
You can attach digital files to any service type. When a customer purchases, Newie automatically includes the download link in the purchase confirmation email. There is no separate digital download email. This is separate from the Welcome Email, which is only sent if you have enabled it. If multiple files are uploaded, Newie bundles them into a single.zip file for the customer. When selecting a file, the file must be available in the device’s Files app; move or upload cloud files there first if needed.
Note: Digital Downloads is free - no additional fee applies.Specifications:

A customer did not receive a digital download link
There is no separate digital download email. If Digital Downloads is enabled, the download link is included in the purchase confirmation email. Ask the customer to check the purchase confirmation email and spam or junk folders. If the wrong email was used or the email did not arrive, contact Newie support with the customer name, purchase email address, service name, and purchase date.
Customers Can Pause
Customers Can Pause lets customers subscribed to a specific subscription service pause their own subscription without contacting you. When enabled, the customer can select a pause end date from self-service. You will see the customer’s status update to Paused in the Subscribers section. Customers Can Pause is available on subscription services only. It applies per service, so configure it only on subscription services where customer self-pause should be allowed. Make sure this setting matches the terms and customer expectations for that service.Customers Can Cancel
Customers Can Cancel lets customers subscribed to a specific subscription service cancel immediately or schedule a cancellation without contacting you. If this setting is enabled, Newie will allow the customer to use the self-cancel flow even if your Terms of Service mention a minimum term. Immediate cancellation ends the subscription right away; scheduled cancellation sets a future cancellation date. Customers Can Cancel is available on subscription services only. It applies per service, so configure it only on subscription services where customer self-cancel should be allowed. Make sure this setting matches the terms and customer expectations for that service. If Customers Can Pause and Customers Can Cancel are both off, customers will not see pause or cancel options and will need to contact you directly. You can update these settings at any time by opening Newie → Sell → Services, tapping the... menu next to the service, then tapping Edit.
