Instant Payouts let you move instant-available funds to your connected bank account within 30 minutes when you are eligible, instead of waiting for the next scheduled payout. Newie runs this through Stripe’s payout infrastructure.Documentation Index

Eligible Payment Methods
Instant Payouts only cover funds from payment methods Stripe categorises as instant-available. Not every payment Newie supports is eligible.| Payment Method | Instant Payout Eligibility | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay) | Eligible | Funds become instant-available as soon as the charge is complete, even before standard clearing finishes. |
| BECS Direct Debit (AU) | Eligible after settlement | Funds need to settle first (usually up to 3 business days) before they’re added to the instant-available balance. |
| BNPL: Afterpay/Clearpay, Affirm, Klarna | Not eligible | BNPL payout timing is standard only. BNPL-funded balances follow your normal scheduled payout, even though you are funded upfront for the purchase amount, less applicable fees. |
Eligibility
In Newie, Instant Payouts become available 30 days after your first standard payout has been processed, provided the other eligibility checks are also met. Until then, Payout Now may be visible, but you will not be able to take an instant payout, even if the bank supports it. There is nothing to enable manually. Once both of the following are true, Payout Now can complete an Instant Payout when funds are instant-available:- 30 days have passed since your first standard payout was processed
- Your bank supports Instant Payouts (Newie’s supported-banks list is provided by Stripe - see Supported Banks below)
Fee
Instant Payouts cost 1.5% of the amount you choose to pay out. Enter the amount you want sent to your bank, and Newie adds the 1.5% fee on top. For example, if you enter $100, Newie debits $101.50 from the instant-available balance: $100 for the payout plus a $1.50 fee. Standard daily, weekly, and monthly payouts remain free. For most businesses, Instant Payouts are best for occasional urgent transfers. Using them as the regular schedule adds up; scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly payouts are usually the better default.Supported Banks
Stripe maintains the supported bank list for Instant Payouts. Newie does not maintain a separate list. Check the current list on Stripe: Stripe’s Instant Payouts supported banks If your bank is not on Stripe’s list, Payout Now cannot complete an instant payout to that bank. The options are to switch to a supported bank or use standard scheduled payouts. How to Take an Instant Payout
Enter the payout amount
If you are eligible and funds are instant available, enter the payout amount and review the 1.5% fee added on top.
Why Payout Now Doesn’t Complete
Common reasons Payout Now is visible but an instant payout cannot be completed:- Fewer than 30 days have passed since the first standard payout was processed
- Your bank is not on Stripe’s supported-banks list
- No funds are yet marked as instant-available, or there is not enough instant-available balance to cover the payout amount plus the 1.5% fee
- Recent sales are funded by BNPL (Afterpay/Clearpay, Affirm, Klarna). BNPL transactions aren’t eligible for Instant Payouts and don’t contribute to the instant-available amount.
- The Newie app isn’t on the latest version - update and re-check
Region Availability
Newie offers Instant Payouts where Stripe supports them. Countries, currencies, and supported banks are determined by Stripe. If the region and bank are eligible, Payout Now can complete an instant payout after the 30-day window, as long as funds are instant-available and no Stripe limits apply.Important: Availability should not be promised based on country alone. Instant Payouts depend on the 30-day post-first-payout requirement, Stripe-supported bank, eligible currency, Stripe marking funds as instant available, available instant funds, and Stripe daily limits. If your bank is not on Stripe’s list, there is no Newie-side workaround; use standard scheduled payouts instead.Last updated: 2026-05-30
