Why Connect Newie + Trello

For small teams who run onboarding, follow-ups, or fulfillment as a visual board. Connecting Newie to Trello turns billing events into cards on the right list - so a new subscription appears in “Onboarding”, an overdue invoice appears in “Follow up”, and nothing falls between tools.

Common Zaps

Subscription Started → Trello: Create Card Create an Onboarding card when the first subscription payment is complete. Map customer name to the card title and service plus email to the description. One-Off Purchase Complete → Trello: Create Card For completed one-off purchases that need fulfillment, create a card on a Fulfillment list. Payment Overdue → Trello: Create Card Create a card on a Follow-ups list so someone works the recovery manually. Subscription Ends → Trello: Create Card Add a card to an Offboarding list to handle final steps (cancel access, send exit survey).

What You’ll Need

  • Newie account with Zapier connected (Settings → Integrations → Zapier)
  • A Trello account that is a member of the target board
  • The board and lists set up in advance

Setup at a Glance

  1. In Newie, go to Settings → Integrations → Zapier and copy your API token.
  2. In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Newie as the trigger. Pick the trigger event.
  3. Connect Trello as the action app and authorize.
  4. Choose Create Card.
  5. Select the board and list, then map Newie fields to Card Name and Description. Optionally set a label and due date.
  6. Test, then enable.

Notes

  • Use Trello labels to colour-code cards by Newie service or customer type. Set the label in the Zap so cards are sortable from day one.
  • For boards used by multiple people, set the Member field on the Zap action so the right person is auto-assigned.
  • Zapier can create cards on a board and list you can access. If a board, list, member, or label is missing in Zapier, check Trello membership and reconnect the app before changing the Zap logic.
