Why Connect Newie + Google Calendar
For solo operators and small teams using Google Calendar for sessions, blocks, and follow-ups. Connecting Newie lets paid customers or billing events appear on your calendar for time-blocking, reminders, or team visibility.Common Zaps
Subscription Started → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Create a calendar event when billing starts and the subscription becomes active. Use it for onboarding calls or cohort start dates, and map customer name and service to the event. One-Off Purchase Complete → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Drop completed one-off purchases onto a “new clients” calendar so you can see them at a glance. Payment Overdue → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Create a follow-up event a day or two out to remind yourself to chase the customer. Subscription Ends → Google Calendar: Create Detailed Event Block a short retention check-in call on the day a subscription ends. What You’ll Need
- Newie account with Zapier connected (Settings → Integrations → Zapier)
- A Google account with access to the calendar you want to write to
- A dedicated Google Calendar if you want billing events separate from your main schedule (recommended)
Setup at a Glance
- In Newie, go to Settings → Integrations → Zapier and copy your API token.
- In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Newie as the trigger. Pick the trigger event.
- Connect Google Calendar as the action app and sign in.
- Choose Create Detailed Event (or Quick Add Event for simpler entries).
- Pick the target calendar, then map Newie fields into the event title, description, and start time. Use a fixed offset (e.g. “1 day from now”) via Formatter by Zapier if you want a scheduled follow-up.
- Test, then enable.
Notes
- Google Calendar events need a start time. If your Zap doesn’t have one, use Formatter by Zapier → Date / Time to generate one.
- Use Subscription Created only for pre-start admin reminders, because it fires when the customer first purchases. Use Subscription Started when the calendar event represents the billing start date or active paid access.
- Use a dedicated calendar so billing-driven events don’t clutter your main schedule.
