Why Connect Newie + Trainerize

For personal trainers and online coaches who bill in Newie and deliver through Trainerize. Newie handles subscriptions, payment retries, and pauses; Trainerize handles workouts, messaging, and tracking. Zapier can create or update paying clients in Trainerize where the required Trainerize action is available.

Common Zaps

Subscription Started → ABC Trainerize: Create / Update Client V2 When billing starts and the subscription becomes active, create or update the client in ABC Trainerize. Map name, email, and Newie service name into a Trainerize note, group, tag, or program field where available. One-Off Purchase Complete → ABC Trainerize: Create / Update Client V2 For one-off intake purchases, create or update the client and notify the coach to follow up. Subscription Paused → Slack/Email notification Trainerize doesn’t expose a clean “pause client” action, so notify the coach via Slack or email to suspend the program manually. Subscription Ends → Slack/Email notification Notify the coach when a subscription ends so they can archive or offboard the client in Trainerize.

What You’ll Need

  • Newie account with Zapier connected (Settings → Integrations → Zapier)
  • An ABC Trainerize account on a plan that includes Zapier access
  • A trainer or admin account in Trainerize for the Zapier connection

Setup at a Glance

  1. In Newie, go to Settings → Integrations → Zapier and copy your API token.
  2. In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Newie as the trigger. Pick Subscription Started or One-Off Purchase Complete.
  3. Connect ABC Trainerize as the action app and authorize with a trainer/admin account.
  4. Choose the Create / Update Client V2 action.
  5. Map Newie’s email, full_name (split via Formatter if needed), and service name into the corresponding Trainerize fields.
  6. Test, then enable.

Notes

  • Before turning on the Zap, confirm that ABC Trainerize exposes Create / Update Client V2 for the trainer/admin account. If the action or required fields are unavailable, use a coach notification instead of promising automatic client creation.
  • Some Trainerize client-management actions are only available inside Trainerize. Use Newie triggers to drive notifications and client updates where Zapier supports them, rather than assuming full bidirectional sync.
  • If you run multiple programs, add a Filter by Zapier step on the Newie service/offering ID so each Zap only acts on the matching service. Use Subscription Started for paid subscription access, because Subscription Created fires when the customer first purchases and can be earlier than billing start for future-start subscriptions. For installment plans, choose the subscription or payment trigger that matches the plan stage you care about.
